It's on STT - atop the tram car ride - at sunset - Paradise Point cocktail party.

Would like to meet the islanders and visitors.

Carla, C Urchin, Sherri - see you there.

6pm...

Anyone else? Ron?

Paradise point group... Well, I arrived home from STT today at 3am, due to many flight delays. The terminal in STT was without power, NO COMPUTERS, very fussy agents and hours waiting in the stuffy HOT terminal. Delays due to Atlanta not allowing flights to land because of bad weather..... First I need to apologize to the group meeting at PP, I arrived at 6pm waited for 40 minutes and failed to recognise Blu. The music was SOOOO loud, the tables I approached never produced anyone from the forum. There wasn't any air moving, which surprised me, being so high. The heat was overwhelming. I finally left around 6:40. If I missed everybody, I am so sorry. I was really looking forward to putting some faces to the names.

Carla,
So sorry to hear that you were there and that we DID miss you! For sure, we need to have a way of knowing how to meet up! We were wondering what happened, but then, we kinda figured that one out being that we ALL had a heck of time finding each other! lol! Yes, the music was way too loud! Obviously, we were there to talk, not dance! 🙂 Next time! Others will be sharing as they get the chance- some here on vacation as you know and won't get the chance until they reach home!
Sorry to hear about your trip back! WOW! Glad you got home safely!

Carla - we did indeed miss you! And there certainly was a mixup about actual location to meet although why Sherri, Blu and the others would be up top where there was NO BAR and NO SERVICE boggles my mind, LOL. But we finally got together and it was really enjoyable even if we did have to wait over an hour for food! I'm on the wagon so didn't try the Caribbean Vineyards wine but the bouquet was very nice and those who partook said it tasted very good.

I met michigan Barb and her hubbie by chance on the tramway going up. Although I advised them not to get into the same car with me, they hopped right in and I managed to hold in all that was threatening to come up.... I was saved going DOWN because Blu had managed to get a parking space up top so took me to my car. That said, Blu was driving this humongous SUV rental and when she popped the hood instead of turning on the lights, I did get a little white-knuckled.

It was definitely a fun evening and so sorry that we missed you - next time!

And whoever's got the photos, where they be?

Boy don't I feel the fool, now I'm really depressed. WOW had no idea such a large group was there, especially you STT Resident since you saved me from total destruction in my foolish attempt to... "maybe walk..." up.LOL A SLOW Death would have been easier. Sounds like it was so much fun. Couldn't help but laugh at your remark about Blu popping the hood,, Another forum member with a great since of humor. Again, it was my loss.

Stayed at Point Pleasant in the D building on the advice of Future Islander. Couldn't have been happier with the resort and employees. I now have legs like a football player, and down about 5 lbs. What a workout...BUT OH THAT VIEW...
Your friend, Carla

Good morning everyone! Geez, I just got to Tampa this morning at 3:37 am (San Juan and AA, need I say more?). I knew I should have taken AA up on their offer to stay an extra nite.

I have pics and will download them as soon as I get home to Houston, I don't have all my computer cords with me that allows me to hook the camera up to the computer, etc. . . Additionally, the girl wearing the VINOW T-shirt (don't want to post names) also took pics, maybe she can post them faster since I am here for another week.

I had a great time that nite and it was great to meet all of you and see others again! I will post details with the pics after the 9th of July .

Hope promoguy is having a great time and Bluwater and LLBL the same - wish I was still there!

C Urchin 😀

How fun. Only hope to have a similiar experience next June!...My hubby even says he'll splurge for the first round...mighty fine of him! 🙂 Maybe I'll have room for some of our homemade wine in my suitecase, that's if he'll let me pack half my stuff in his suitcase!

Sleeper18, Sorry we missed you. It did take a long time to find everyone next time maybe we should all have VINOW t-shirts to identify each other. Was great to meet everyone and put a face with the names. We also got in the mess in Atlanta, but were able to land and sit for 3 hours! Got home Monday at 3:00 a.m.

STT Resident, thanks for the enjoyable ride on the tram. I never knew there were flowers on the hill, very pretty, I've always been looking out at the water not the hill. Glad you got a ride back down.

My husband and I had a great 25th aniv. on St Martin and then St. Thomas. Was very relaxing. St. Martin was a little disapointing. They have a bad crime situation there (told not to walk to town less than a mile during the day on the beach due to gangs! We had our honeymoon there 25 years ago and thats why we went. The place we stayed in 25 years ago was distroyed by a hurraicane 12 years ago but the buildings are still standing. Heard the owner took the insurance money and ran. Too bad it's still a beautiful island with very friendly people. Was glad to get to my favoriate island St. Thomas. We had some great dinners at Hook Line and Sinker and Indigo. Also on the cheaper side, had the Texas BarBQ. Was great , my husband and I had a combo plate half ribs half chicken potatoe and cole slaw for $13.00. Can't beat that price! We stayed at Bluebeards had no problems, staff was friendly and place was clean. Had a beautiful view of the new Yaght Haven (spelling?) We went to a different beach everyday and just chilled. Husbands been working 7 days for last 3 years and sure needed to rest. I've already taken care of the St Thomas blues, I put in for a timeshare for next year and a villa. Miss it already and haven't been home a week yet!

Sherri, was nice to meet you and Jeff thanks for the villa advice. We went and talked to McLaughlin the next day, very nice people.

Bluwater, sorry we didn't have time to talk, I did get to talk to your daughter a little, she's a sweetheart!

Well must get going. Have to water the lawn, our son decided it didn't need it while we were gone ( it only rained twice in two weeks and was in the 90's!) Hopefully it will be back to green again soon. At least I had my sister taking care of my flowers and not my son!

mibarb,
Glad to read your semi-report! Interesting! I have been thinkin' of you and was wondering how things went with booking a villa! So you did it? Yeah! Feel free to contact me with any questions and I am sorry I was so busy when you called! I will be lookin' forward to seeing you again next year for sure!

Hopin' to get together with Blu today- we'll see. She, her honey and young girls (hers and honey's girl), came over to visit us at the villa the other day. Was so nice to sit and chat for a bit. Showed her the construction sight and Shack! I so enjoyed their company! She will be returning home soon and will be-able to get on to see the post!

Can't wait til we all get together again! 🙂

I continue to feel foolish about missing everybody, don't know how I missed all in a 40 minute period. I kept looking for a pretty girl with a child(Blu), remembered her picture.(I thought). Every table I approached, could hardly hear me, it would have been an easier task if my eardrums weren't pounding, don't know how people handled sitting in front of the speakers. The black girl, very friendly, working the gift shop, helped me ask people as they got off the tram.
Once again I am so sorry to have missed you all. I was looking forward to it all week.

As for the airline delays in getting home, after reading others post, it continued through Monday. That puts an aggravating, tiring end to a relaxing trip. Seems flying continues to get worse and costly. My next trip to STT will be from Dallas for a non stop flight.
Thank you for the pictures and I love the idea about all wearing a VINOW t-shirt,,,perfect for us mentally challenged members.
Carla
