It happens more often that you might think and not always with the success that these two had. Many a mortified cruiser who didn't pay attention to the time has been left on the wharf over the years, sadly watching the ship disappearing way in the distance. The ship's agents then have to find the hapless visitors a room for the night and get them a flight out the next day to rejoin the ship at its next port of call - all of course at the vacationer's own expense!

We watched a flusterd couple stranded on the wharf after having missed the last tender to their Disney cruise ship. We were waiting for the ferry to StJ. It appeared that they were able to get a ride to their ship before departure but the look of despair was unforgettable.
