Hi all,
I am trying to find out what documents are required for travel between the US and St. Thomas. I am NOT a US citizen and would like to know if Driver's license is sufficient for documentation purposes while going to and leaving St. Thomas (I am flying from Atlanta, GA). Can you tell me exactly what happens when you fly back from St. Thomas to the States? Do you go through immigration? What do they ask you? Is driver's license sufficient enough for the authorities to let you on the plane? I am on a work visa here, so I can stay in the US until the end of 2007 but I don't have a visa to travel oversees. But since USVI is not considered oversees, I would like to see if I can go on vacation there. That's why I am gathering the info.
THANK YOU!
You have to be able to prove you have the right to go back to the continental US. For a US citizen, it's a passport or drivers license and birthcertificate. Resident aliens need their green cards.
If you are not allowed to travel overseas on your visa, you are going to have trouble getting back onto the continent.
You should check with hoever issued your work visa.
All you should need is your work visa showing you are allowed in the country until the end of 2007. Coming here is not out of the country however you need to show your documentation on the way back.
