Has anyone heard of whether this site is legit- www.flycheapabroad.com ??

I am still poking around for decent fares for our June 18th departure from Nashville to (STT) St. John

They are still sky-high and I saw a couple of posts on Tripadvisor about this site-

I am on hold for them right now and they I'm listening to VERY cheesy piano music - not a good sign

Thanks for the help

Oh my god now I'm hearing an Air Supply song - this cannot be good

Hey Debbiest-

I appreciate it-

I was on line poking around looking at packages in Mexico, Bahamas etc- I was thinking about Harbour Island-

We really want to go to St. John-

I think we'll just wait it out and if they don't go down, just bite the bullet and go ayways-
I'd rather pay the extra money than save $200 and be kicking myself later

Hey thanks again for the good thoughts-

Jim

You might want to try onetravel.com. I booked a trip with them yesterday from Montgomery Alabama to St. Thomas. It showed up as "major white label carrier", but I knew the airline had to be U.S. Airways because of the stop in Charlotte. I saved about $300 by booking through onetravel.com instead of directly with US Airways.

Hey Debbiest, great job at finding him the low fare. Can I put in my order now? How about cheap fares from Orlando to STT in early July? Thanks, you air fare wizard!

Debbiest-

You are awesome-

I really appreciate you eyeballing this for me-

Unfortunately it has to be 18-25 of June as we have coordinated with sitters- both places of work etc.

Thanks so much again!

Wow, we've been searching for R/T to STT for July 1 - 8. I just checked out FlyCheapAbroad. They are citing $5,500 for a one stop flight through US Airways that is currently going for $850 on the US Air website. How can that be???? Not much of a bargain!

Hi Ellie,

I know what you mean for the days we are going some of the flights were as much as $11,000. Do you get a private jet? But I would keep watching the site because we ended up getting those same days--RT from San Diego to St. Thomas with only one stop in North Carolina for only $400 a ticket. The tickets are the exact ones we had reserved through US Air (and we are still on US Air--exact same itinerary). I wouldn't give up quite yet on flycheapabroad.com. The rates seem to change daily even hourly. Also if you can change your flight by a day either way that can make a big difference too.

Good Luck!

Beware! Warning! Caution! Achtung!

No FlyCheapAbroad is NOT legit. FlyCheapAbroad is a front for Solar Tours and Picasso Travel, who are very unethical and poorly managed organizations.

I had seen good things about them on some message boards, and they had really good fares on their website for the flight that I wanted to take from SFO to CDG.

There were special instructions to say that your baby or babies are over 2 years old if you want them to have their own seats. I have 2 month old twin girls, so I followed the instructions to specify their age as 2 years old to make sure that I got 4 seats.

After I made the reservation (just over $2100 for 4 seats) I got an email saying that there was a "system availability error." Before I had received this email, they had already reached my wife by phone, and I guess in the process of that call found out that the girls are in fact infants. They then told my wife the "good news" that even though the fare that I had booked was no longer good, that they could get us a cheaper fare. You guessed it ... they changed the booking from 4 seats to 2 seats (with babies on both of our laps all the way from San Francisco to Paris!!!

Really horrible bait and switch. I'm now going into my second week of trying to fix this. The value of the time spent will tack a real cost of about $2800 (and climbing) to whatever the cost of the tickets is.

There are whole days when you can't reach anything but a voicemail. Leaving messages is futile. I've never had a returned call. When you do talk to someone and they promise to call back, they have never called back. Right now I am 1 hour and 14 minutes into a call that went like this. 2 minutes of hold, person answers and says "hold please," 18 more minutes of hold, then I get to say "can I speak to Shirley" (I'm insisting on getting names now), then 21 more minutes of hold, then Shirley answers and I give her my booking number and repeat what has happened (for the nth time), and then she tells me that I'll have to pay much more, and at this point I don't care, I just want this pain and expense to stop, so I say "how much more?," and she says that she will calculate, and I've been on hold ever since.

Well at least I'm putting my extremely long hold time will be of some use if I can save someone else from going through this needless nightmare. I book all of my travel online, and this is first horrible experience I've had.

Good luck and happy trails!

Whoever wrote this is a funny guy. I had to chuckle when I read it. Nashville Tennessee or Nashville Indiana, doesn't matter, it ain't abroad.

Sleeper -

Where are you looking? Go to www.kayak.com and run it up for a 21 day advance booking from LIT to STT - $396 + tax. Takes a whole day to get there, but really.....it's about as cheap as I've seen it in a while. The 21 day window seems to be the key, and travel in mid week if you can when the rates are cheap. I'm in AR, too!

I purchased 2 R/T tickets from SFO to VIE Austria a month ago from flycheapaboard using my credit card. When we returned from our trip we found out that two different travel agencies in TAIWAN charged more that $8000 dollars on our credit card. I don't know if there is any connection between them but the timing is definitely suspicious.

I'm trying to find flights from JFK to Vienna, then return from Prague to JFK. I can't find anyplace on this website for multiple destinations. I would just move on but the prices look pretty good -- actually lower than anything I've found yet. Anybody have any ideas? Or just forget this website?

The ticket from San Francisco to Geneva late Sept. with " flycheapabroad.com" is $200 less than other online source.
I just need to be reassured" flycheapabroad.com " is a legit travel serve. If anyone used this service please let me know.
