We're traveling to St. Thomas on May 4 and will return on the 11th. I see cheap flights with a 14 hour layover in St. Juan then an early next morning flight out to Orlando, then back home (Flint, Michigan). Has anyone stayed the overnight at St. Juan? Any cheap hotels by the airport you can suggest? We don't know if we should fly in and out of St. Juan that same evening and stay in Orlando or if accommodations are good in St. Juan.
THanks!

You mean San Juan. I wouldn't bother overnighting, but there is an airport hotel if necessary.

yes, the hotel is literally inside the terminal in s. juan. it is very new and the accomodations are quite adequate. the breakfast is sparse. don't know what the rates are because our rooms were comped when we stayed there last month. as you walk out of baggage claim, the hotel is on your left, just left of the main entrance to the terminal.

We paid about $140 2 weeks ago as walk-ups. Hotel was fine. Comp breakfast was a little spare, but also adequate, fruit cereal, muffins, toast, etc. And it is convenient -- right next to the American ticket counters.

Ric/az - thats the newly refurbished Best Western correct?
Comforting to hear that its OK . Not much info available on it on line because it mustve been closed for a while for the rehab that was finished this past summer.
In March, we'll be flying in late on AA, staying at BW and flying out next morning at 8am on Caribbean Sun Airlines to STT.
This had dual benefits that booking the flights this way was a lot cheaper and we start the first day of our USVI vacation nice and early.

Thanks for the info. I think we've decided to stay in Orlando on the return flight. I love this message board!
