My husband & I are going to be spending the summer in St. Croix and were wondering if anyone has stayed at, or knows anything good/bad about, the Fjell House? Any other recommendations? Thanks!

Hi Sharese,

I don't know about the Fjell House, but I can recommend my condo as a rental. It's located in beautiful Coakley Bay, about five miles East of Downtown Christiansted. We have great views from our condo with Buck Island out in front. How long will you be in St. Croix for? Check out our website for more pictures: www.paradiseonthereef.com.

Thanks Kelli. We were hoping to get a house rather than a condo, but I will definitely keep your link just in case. It looks like a really nice place. We are probably going to be there from about July 1 through December. Sort of an extended vacation/see if we want to move down there kind of thing.

Sharese,

We just got back from a vacation on St Croix where we stayed at Coakley Bay Condos. We have stayed in both the F and G buildings and on this trip we made sure to walk all around the condos to see which buildings we would like to stay in--- if we're lucky enough to return! We saw Kelli's condo and it looked great. It's on one of the lower buildings, but still high enough to have a good view. We like Coakley because of the wonderful view and the pool is a nice big one-- newly reglazed.

We were also interested in Fjell House since we've heard about it on rental property sites. It is just up the east end road from Coakley Bay. Since some people were staying there we couldn't get out, but from the road it looks very nice! It is practically beach level. Seems to be straight out ocean view. There is a 'for sale' sign on it right now. I don't know if that matters to you-- just thought I'd let you know!

Feel free to email me if you have any questions. [email protected]

Are weekly condo prices pretty similar to the prices from www.paradiseonthereef.com in STT or STJ? The off season rates seem very reasonable. Can you find 3 bedroom condo rentals in STT or STJ in the off season for less than $1000?

Not sure if you're still thinking about Fjell, but I stayed there two summers ago and loved it. The beach is RIGHT there, it's incredibly private, the pool is great, and the view can't be beat. We loved it. It is an "open air" home so you have to be OK with birds flying through, mosquitos at night, etc. But if you're game for that, it's terrifc. Kitchen is OK. you can't be the location and views.
