Roger, it all dependes on what you are after. The waters around Saint Thomas are some of the best in the world for Blue Marlin. But, they are seasonal and are best between late July and the end of October. Yep. Right in the middle of hurricane season

I was there last week trolling for mahi and instead hit a school of blackfin tuna. 6 miles south of st thomas there is a drop where depth goes from 250 to 3k feet as you pass over the ledge. you can also fish inshore for tarpon or ladyfish or snook or barracuda, or whatever else bites. depends what you're looking for, but there is a lot of fishing to be had. guy i was with caught a marlin 2 weeks ago, and another guy hooked a huge wahoo.
