Looking for some info on fishing (reef & offshore) during the first part of March. I understand that it's early for bill fish but any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thankx, Jim

IMHO, Captain Jonathan of the DoubleHeader on STT is the BEST! I've been deep-sea with him loads of times over the last 7 years, and I have been with others, too, but he is the best. You WILL catch fish. He can pick you up on St. John (no "S"), too. My best 1/2 day trip with him was 37 yellowfin, and my worst was 13. I've also caught wahoo, barracuda, dolphin (the fish, not the mammal), sharks...the list goes on and on! GREAT boats to fish on. Call him at 340-777-7317. He also filets the first 20 lbs for you and sells the rest to the restaurants

How is the water there? My wife tends to get sea sick? I know it depends on the weather but, in april, is it generally calm or rough?

It depends on whether you are going deep-sea or inshore. Deep-sea, even on a calm day will have 2 foot rollers out of the East. But, since you are in an open boat, seasickness is at a minimum. Just take some dramamine before hand and risk it! Haha!

Thanks for the info. A lot depends on what month you're down there. The idea of yellow fin does spark interest. I'll definitely give Capt. Jonathan a shout before I go down (1st week in March)
