Hi Folks - I'm going to bareboat charter in May out of Nanny Key in the BVI and plan to do some fishing. In the process of seeking info for a fishing license I found several sites on the net that explained the process for obtaining a license along with the forms to send in. They also require a photo, a copy of the first page of your passport, a check for $45 and your first born child (just kidding about the kid).
I did all the above and the folks at the Fisheries Department in Road Town sent the whole thing back to me with the check uncashed and no license.
After much work on the phone I found out that the reason my check was not cashed is due to the fact that the charge is actually $35, not $45 as is stated on several sites on the net.
BTW, DO NOT fish in BVI waters without a liscense. If your boarded by the Officals it could lead to an abrupt ending to your fishing as well as your charter.
