I will be in St Croix from 11 July to 16 July. I have done some searches for charter boats without much success. Anyone have any links or info on the offshore fishing in this area and what species are in the area around this particular time of year.

Thanks.....Allan

You might also want to contact the Golden Hook Game Fishing Club - - the folks there are up to date on who is doing what and when as far as charters and can give you good info on what is being caught where in the St. Croix waters. Blue Marlin are hitting this time of year. But remember: a fish is too valuable to catch only once - - - so catch (tag if you so wish) and release. Tight Lines!

Makira -- You sound knowledgeable about the local fishing scene. I am hoping to go out for the first time this week. Are there any charters out of St. Thomas you recommend? Also, what is the best experience for two guys on a budget? Obviously we can't afford an 8 hour trip, but would like some exciting action. Thanks!

Hey Carib, if you are on STT right now, why not go to the get-together tonight at Bryan's bar? I too am interested in a charter.

Hi Guys - - My personal favorite fishing charter on STT is Marlin Prince out of American Yacht Harbor on the East End - - right next to the ferry dock. Prowler II is another very popular charter out of the same marina. Abigail III operates out of Sapphire Marina with Captain Red Baily (a local legend). Sapphire is also on the East End just around the corner from AYH. If you' want to go without a captain, there are several power boat rental companies that have boats equipped with outriggers, etc. If you're on the East End, stop by the AYH marina office and pick up some brochures or call them for phone numbers. They're usually pretty helpful, and there are probably more charter companies there than I can remember right now. We're coming up on the full moon which always brings great fishing so you should have a great day whichever way you decide. Enjoy your trip and welcome to St. Thomas!
