Hello! I'm looking for others to share a fishing charter on 4/14/13. I will be by myself and would like to split the costs with others if possible. It is my first time to the island and not too sure of the availability and norms. Having fished the TX. coastline, it is easy to get aboard the "party" fishing boats,(20+ people) and go for 4 hours bottom fishing. Is this available in St. Thomas? I have lots of questions, but I'll start with that one. 🙂
Thanks!
Pete
There are no party fishing boats here in the VI or BVI that I am aware of.
The regular charter sport fishing boats go out for full or half days for offshore fishing.
Tuna, wahoo, etc.
Costs vary according to trip and size of boat.
Most take 2-6 persons max.
Don't quote me but prices can range $600 for 1/2 day and up, depending on the amount of people, etc.
You can contact Neptune Fishing as they may be able to "hook you up" with the charter fishing yachts or recommend someone.
(340) 775-0115. They supply fishing equipment, etc. to the sport fishing boats so know all of them.
There are some that do inshore for snook, tarpon, etc.
Thank you! 🙂
Doiuble Header and Abigail III are highly reputable and both go out of Sapphire Marina. If you contact them directly they may be able to hook you up with another party so you can share the costs.
Double Header has my vote!
