Bill,

I haven't had a chance to do any charter fishing but have read a review or two here on this board. So am not in a good position to give any recommendations. A search would probably help.

On a side note, everytime we go to STT, I always bring a light to medium weight packable spinning rod with me ( from Cabela's) and a reel spooled with braided line to help against abrasion from sharp rocks. I also bring silver colored artificial lures like kastmasters and assorted yozuris.... a white bucktail jig won't hurt either. Then go fishing off the rocks from the different beaches. If I remember correctly, the Renaissance has some rocks to the right. Better yet, get one of the kayaks they have and and troll a lure behind you as you paddle along. You'd be surprised at what might hit.

If you are at Magens bay, go to the rocks on the left (facing the water). The right side is not productive. Believe it or not but have caught tarpon, 'cuda, jacks and even snapper from there. Knowing the tide is a big plus.

Added to what 's mentioned above, you could even catch snappers from a kayak. Call it crazy but it works!!!!

Email me if you have any questions. I may have other tips that escape me right now.

Good luck!
