We will be in St. Thomas the last week of January and we would like to go fishing. Does anyone have any recommendations on a guide, renting a boat, or just fishing in general.

My fav is DoubleHeader out of Sapphire Marina. I've been fishing with them for 7 years, and I am always whoop-tired from catching so many! And Capt. Jonathan lets you take home 20 lbs that he filets for you.

What about inshore fishing? I have thought about off shore but my wife just got sick on a charter we took off of Key Largo while on vacation over the holidays. Are the seas pretty rough there? We will be in STT in April and am wanting to charter a boat but I want her to enjoy the fishing also. We were in seas w/ 4-6ft swells and she got sick pretty quick.

Ryan, there are several folks that fish off shore next to the house in which I live. I've not been aware of them having huge catches. The seas are not always really rough here, depends on the day/weather. Finally I would recommend something that my druggist sold to me to prevent sea-sickness, called Scopalamine.....not sure about the spelling, but let me tell you it works. It is a little vial (cost me $6. here) which you squirt onto the skin of your wrist(s) before going out on a boat. It works better than anything else on the market and there are no side effects.
