Hello Everyone,

I will be traveling to StJ on April 9. Can someone let me know what to expect crowd wise. Any friendly advise would help.

Thank you much,

Crowds? On STJ? The biggest crowd (if you can call it that) you will see is at the ferry dock...maybe 100 people going over to STT? But, since it runs so frequently, you're probably going to see half that...even with Carnival happening on STT...

Marty,

Thanks. Are you a resident or on vacation? Perhaps Im wondering more about the local scene. I plan on being there for a while, would you be able to breakdown the cost of living?

On STJ, places to live are always harder to find than jobs. Check Connections (straight shot forward from the ferry dock) for contacts and leads.

The COL on STJ is, however, a bit ridiculous. But, if you're going to be broke, this is the best place in the world to be broke!

I've lived on STT for over ten years...a breakdown of my living expenses would look like this:

Rent - $1,150 (water and power included)
Gasoline - $200 (I do a lot of driving)
Food/groceries - $1,000
Cigarettes - $30
Rum and Beer - $0 (I don't drink anymore)
Misc. - $120

$2,500/mo...and I have no other bills like credit cards or car payments...

Add about a grand to that for STJ.

You'll find tons of information on living expenses, etc. if you go to the relocation forum on this site. Cheers!
