hi everyone,
Happy New Year to everyone. It's been a while since I've posted here.
I'm looking for a 2 bedroom villa for 2 couples on STJ fairly close to Cruz Bay in the $3750 to $4250 (per week high season 2008). This will be my 5th trip to STJ, my wife's 2nd and our friends 1st visit and I've never stayed in a villa.
Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

we stayed at Bongo Bongo last Oct. for our honeymoon and we loved it. It is handled by Carefree Getaways.

While I've not stayed there, I've seen a lot of people recommend Perelandra.

crickett,

bride and i loved both treasure ridge and temptress, next door neighbors on upper rockridge. both have the high western views of sunsets and lights of stt but still short drive to cruz bay. tr fairly new and has a wonderful covered porch all way across front of house. only draw backs construction next door but should be through by 2008 and the 2 equal masters on the main level do not have ocean views. temptress on the other hand is older but very island style with 4 pods stretching over 100 ft with bedrooms on opposite ends. great covered porch loads of decks but tiny deep pool. the second bdrm is not equal to master but still very nice. neither has a hot tub but grand kids only members on our trips who have ever used one at other villas that have had hottubs.

both villas are handled by http://destinationstjohn.com

happy hunting

Thanks folks,
I'll check these out. I've read the Bongo Bongo blog and would stay there except that it's a little above our price range. Thanks for the info... any other suggestions would be welcome.

We stayed in Perelandra and loved it. It's even a bit below your price range. It's not very big, but it has everything you need, including a pool and a deck with a nice view. One bedroom upstairs, one downstairs. It's quite nicely furnished. And it's below your price range!

Peace O'Heaven is a good place. Very close to town and in your price range. We've stayed there twice. It needs a little TLC and a facelist though. But, the pool is amazing and the views at sunset can't be beat.

We've rented through Vivacations.com

We have been to St. J many times over past 15 years. We have stayed repeatedly at Perelandra after stays at the Westin, Gallows Point and a couple of other villas. Saw the other posts about Perelandra and it is great. My wife and I and another couple are actually going to be there next week again(!)...cannot wait! This place is ideal for two couples that like to vacation together. Two separate bedrooms with queen poster beds...one on each floor. Both have great views through the french doors (now with glass sliders) from the bed! Two great bathrooms with walk-in showers open to the outside(!) so that if it rains and you are in shower the rain comes down on you but the occasional chameleon can't! Excellent!

Two wrap around decks with a nice built in pool on lower deck. Great landscaping making the pool area very private. The kitchen is fully equipped. We make a few dinners while we are there in between gastronomical events at our favorite restaurants. Gas grill too!

The most favorite thing for me though are the views! You sit up on the upper deck and you have about a 220 degree view overlooking Cruz Bay. Million dollar sunsets and then the "twinkling lights of St T" across the way in the evening. On clear days I swear you can see clear to Viegas. I cannot wait to grab a glass of vino or a cold beer and just sit my butt down and watch the boats during the day and the incredible sunsets!!

You can check it out at www.vrbo.com or just do a search for Perelandra St John.

Bongo is out of your range? Last I saw it was $4200 in high season. maybe that changed. Sorry.
