Hello, my husband and I are planning a trip to St. Thomas and we are not sure as to where we should stay. We are bringing our 19 and 14 year olds with us, both boys. We would like to stay in an all inclusive hotel but are open to others on the island. Any thoughts?

Thank you!

not sure if there are alot of all inclusives in St Thomas. What about renting a condo? That is what we do and it gives you room and you can have snacks, etc. for the kids.

If you want all inclusive, check out the Domincan Republic. St Thomas has thousands of condos and hotel rooms--some with resturants and activities on site--bu,t no "true" AI resorts.

The Sugar Bay Resort is the only all inclusive and that really isn't the way to go in the USVI. Getting around is easy, there are tons of restaurants in all price ranges to choose from, so many beaches and other day trips to take - AI has never been popular here. I would suggest you go to http://www.vrbo.com and look at condo units at Sapphire, Crystal Cove and secondly at Elysian and Point Pleasant. Particularly with always-hungry growing boys in hand, having your own kitchen is priceless and saves a lot of money when you can prepare your own breakfasts and packed lunches and even dinners. Hotel food is, well, hotel food! Figure a rental car into your budget and enjoy a wonderful vacation! To give you a taste, here's a link to the Sapphire beach webcam - it doesn't get much better!

Try the Westin on St John or Gallows Point (not all inclusive but an awesome place to stay)

Thanks to all for your suggestions! I will check into some condos, and also into the other spots that some other posters mentioned!

We will be in St. John the beginning of Dec. I would like suggestions of where to shop and what excursions are "must do's". Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
