Hi all,
Just discovered this board today, and I've been clicking through all the information, but thought I would post to find some quick answers, but more importantly, your experiences, too.
I'm going down in June with my kids (teenagers) and wanted a mix of quiet rest and fun stuff to do. I thought St. John would provide that. Now I'm thinking of signing up for one of the eco-tours on St. Thomas for one morning. We've already rented a sailboat for a day, so we'll be sailing and mostly snorkling around St. John. Besides hitting a few beaches for snorkling around St. John, I'm thinking one or two really "active" activities would be good. I was thinking of renting a powerboat for some wakeboarding, fishing (my son and I might want to for a couple hours), and snorkling, too, at the harder to reach spots around St. John.
Anyone have any suggestions for a power boat rental on St. John (WITH the captain) that is flexible in what activities we'd like to do? (There's two adults and three teens, so one boat with captain should do it.)
Also, anyone have any suggestions for other "active" things to do, besides all the beach/swim/snorkel stuff? I thought of windsurfing lessons, but dismissed it: too time-consuming and too learning intense. We want to relax. Perhaps jetski rentals? But I thought I read somewhere that St. John only rents if you're on a tour of the island. We've all gone parasailing before, so no one is "up" for that! 🙂
Many thanks!
Rob
actually i would take the kids on a day trip over to the bvi and do the baths trip
If you already rented a private charter then your capt. should take you where you want to go
also snorkel the Indians while over there
if you havent rented a private yet you can book with Stormy Petrel/Pirate Penny as the Capt and crew are great and have some really good Pirate stories i think the kids would like
Good Luck
