I was awaken to lots of fire trucks and police cars going to Sapphire Resort. It seems that there was a fire in building A, the one next to the lobby. From what I was able to determine there were no real injuries. The fire looked like it started on the second floor about mid way down the building. The occupants in the building were taken out of their rooms, some in their night clothes. One guy that I spoke to got in late at night before, felt he was mis-led by the ad and only had is clothes on his back. He was going to check out today. I am sure that there will be lots of smoke damage and probably some law suits.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. I can only hope that it was not caused by the lack of proper maintenance of the unit.

Based on the response it seems like the whole island fire protection was there.

I'll let you know if I hear anything else today. I'll sure that it will be in the paper tomorrow.

the pool is owned by the condo owners as well as the condo buildings. Last year the condo association redid the pool and it looks great. the battle is between the condo owners and the common land holder. The common land includes all of the land up to three feet, I believe, of the condos and the pool. That includes the lobby, the bar, the restaurants, the pool bar etc. Not eactly sure as to what happened to the time shares that were sold that had two full bedrooms that were to be built on the hill.

The buildings look pretty good but there is still the smell of a little smoke. It is not as bad as it was right after the fire.

Hopefully the condo association and the land holder will get together and come out with an agreement and the bar and restaurants ill open up. Does not loo go for this prime season unless something happens quickly which has not been the case here.

Oh for goodness' sake, BillD.

My apologies but you own a unit at Crystal Cove on Sapphire Beach and of course want to push your unit over a unit at Sapphire. Cheers!
