I don't honestly recall everything we did the next few days. I know we went to a couple of different beaches. We took the Ferry to STJ one day and walked around Mongoose Junction. I picked up several spices from the St. John Spice Co. They also had some cute puppy bandanna's. We had lunch at a deli - I didn't catch the name but after some research I think it was Love City Cafe. It was in Mongoose Junction but I couldn't find it on the map. Anyway, great lunch! They also had free Internet service - some locals were there checking their email. Perfect place to stop for picnic supplies - reasonable prices too. We topped off the trip with a few T-shirts and souvenirs...never know when we will be back.
On Tuesday we were booked on the Coconuts day-sail to JVD. George, the villa owner arranged everything and we even received a discount!! Did I mention how much we adore George? Ok, I wont go on and on about how great he is (actually both he and his wife)..this time! We arrived at Sapphire Beach and watched as the New Horizon's boat was loaded - I was happy NOT to be on that boat. We arrived a bit early so we had to walk around the marina and look at boats...DARN IT! The Coconuts catamaran arrived, we loaded up & sailed off to our first & last snorkel site. Captain Doug, mate Doug (cant remember the name of the 2nd mate) were great fun. The sun wasn't shining very bright therefore it wasn't that easy to see the fish....but we made the best of it. 🙂 Next was lunch at Foxy's.
Before getting to JVD we placed our lunch order so we wouldn't have to wait too long once we arrived. We were very surprised to see FOXY - he looked great and he signed my t-shirt. Hubby took a picture while he signed my shirt. What a great guy! He sat nearby as we had lunch - ok, so I was in awe the whole time. I asked him how it felt to be so famous. He said...I'm not famous...I just play a little music. Awesome lunch! Foxy is the greatest.
After lunch we got back on the boat and went to Soggy Dollar Bar. Apparently everyone else had the same idea - there were boats everywhere. We ended up having a couple pain killers and of course we had to have new T-shirts. At one point we saw a goat trying to get into the SDB's kitchen. It's a pet goat that was hit by a car - they have a sign up that reads that he/she is looking for a new home. Hubby said "Don't even think about it". LOL Before we got back on the boat another catamaran hit our catamaran. Yep - another accident. The other boat got away without any damage and ours now sports a scratch. No hard feelings though...these things happen in a cay with 50 boats. On our way back to STT my husband had the opportunity to steer the boat - talk about the highlight of the trip. We also spoke to the captain and he highly recommended Craig & Sally's for dinner that night. So after our day-sail we jetted over there for dinner. Ok, let me digress for a moment. My husband and I are from a small town in Texas & we are more the Dairy Queen speed then high class dinning. I'm not saying that we are complete rednecks.....The Outback is as ritzy as we get in our neck of the woods. Craig & Sally's is far from being the Outback - we were a bit out of place. We didn't recognize items on the menu and they specialize in wine. I ordered tea - guess what was served? Hot tea!! After one awkward moment after the next we finally finished our meal and hightailed it out of there. I had a pork chop with bok choy and a peanut noodle side. My husband had a steak and he enjoyed every bite. Their prices are a bit higher then what we expected but it was worth every penny.
On Wed. we were booked on another day-sail to JVD but on Calypso. This trip was exactly the same as the day before but on a different boat. Lonnie & Chutney (I think that's how you spell it) were adorable first mates. We stopped at the same snorkel spot but the sun was shinning and it was beautiful. The big difference was that the captain required everyone to wear yellow safety inflatables. I wasn't thrilled but it turned out alright - not comfortable but tolerable. This visit we decided to have a snack at Foxy's and then lunch at Soggy Dollar. Before lunch I played with Taboo (the black lab) in the water - he's awesome! I chased him into the surf and was pinched by a crab - it even drew blood! While playing with Taboo, Foxy walked up and asked us what type of dog we thought Taboo was. Well my husband and I both said "Lab". Foxy said "Most white folk think that - but he is really an island dog. There are 3 characteristics that prove that he is an island dog. 1. He is black 2. He sits on his butt all day & 3. He doesn't know who his Daddy is. We about died laughing!!! This was straight from Foxy's mouth. If you ever have a chance please sit and talk to him - he is so interesting. He is quite the storyteller. Later we went to Soggy where the place was deserted. After the day before I expected the place to be packed. We had a tasty lunch (hamburgers & fries) and several very good "nilla killa's". We met a couple on the boat (Hi Tracy & John) and they introduced us to them - it's Vanilla Rum instead of regular rum - awesome. Worth a try if you like Painkillers.
For dinner that night we went to Indigo. We had a wonderful meal with great ambiance. After dinner we went back to the villa and packed a few things. We sat outdoors on the patio & enjoyed the cool breeze & bright moon. Is there anything better?
On Thanksgiving Day we had coffee on the patio, watched our buddy the Iguana and hoped to see Irene the villa cat. On our way to the jeep we took a few pictures of Precious & Irene and were wished a happy Thanksgiving by George & Amalia. We went to Charlotte Amale for souvenirs and then to Tickles for a late lunch. They were serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal and it was tasty. Nothing beats Mom's cooking!!
At the airport we saw a few members of the family involved in the safari bus crash the day before. They were no doubt on their way home - we felt badly for their ruined vacation but thankful that nobody lost their life.
No doubt I left some details out and I'm sorry. If anyone has any questions please let me know or drop me an email @ [email protected] We really couldn't have asked for a better second trip to paradise. Next year we plan on bare-boating a catamaran in the B.V I's - one step closer to living our dream about our own sailboat.
Warm tropical greetings (borrowed from George @ Hullbay)

Really nice report 🙂
The name of the deli is Deli Grotto.
I just want to let people know that the internet is not free. You give your name in at the counter when you logg on and let them know when you are finished and they calculate how much you owe them - can't remember exactly how much it is but it is very cheap (payable for every 15 mins used I think 🙂 ) Just didn't want there to be any surprises when people are charged in the future 🙂

Thanx for sharing! Loved your story about meeting Foxy, the story made me crack up too! lol!
And as far as fancy restaurants go, I'm right along side you! Don't know or understand a thing on the menu! 🙂
Maybe I'll get to meet you some day!
Sherri,
Meeting Foxy was one of the highlights of the trip. Everyone talks about Foxy's New Year's Eve party....I haven't even worn the shirt he signed. LOL I can't imagine putting it in the washing machine. Heck I might have to frame it - then again where will we put it when we move onto the boat?
I read in a tourist book (don't recall the name) that Hull Bay had "good" snorkeling. Coki will always be my favorite spot.
Just my opinion of course
I hope we meet the next time we are on island. I just love STT!!!
Jen
