I've decided that I was just going to post the things we liked most about our trip instead of boring people with the incidentals.

Here goes....

In St. Thomas:

Duffy's Love Shack - We went there 4 nights and had a ball each time. We met people from all over. Fun food, great drinks and bartenders were very personable. Try the Bushwacker and the Funky Monkey. You have to go to understand what it's all about.

Udder Delight near Magens Bay - A must after snorkeling or swimming. Great milkshakes

Molly Malones - Nice place, good prices, good food.

Buritto Deli - Locals eat here, good burittos.

Delly Deck, Havensite - A quick lunch of a turkey club, then you can shop!!

Hook, Line and Sinker, Frenchtown - Good place to stop for something to eat on your way to the airport. Saw the seaplanes landing, which was strange.

Agave - our anniversary dinner. Expensive, good view, good food, romantic

Marina Market, Red Hook - Good Hoagies freshly made.

Beaches - Magens (gorgeous), Coki (best snorkeling), Sapphire (good snorkeling and very pretty)

The people....I can't say enough about the locals. 3 story's.

- Wanted a cab into Red Hook which was only about 3/4 miles, but unsafe to walk at night because of no pavements. One cab stopped and wanted $4.00 PP...rediculous, so we waited for the $1.00 truck type cabs. Next person that pulled up was a local with one passenger and another guy in the back. Husband jumped in the back and I got in the front. I did have a Natalie Holloway moment, but they dropped us off and refused any tip at all. Just doing a favor.

- After spending a few hours at Duffy's, a gal we were dancing with drove us home to Sapphire. We didn't ask, she just took us. Thanks Donna!

- Having a great debate with 3 locals about whether or not to open a car door for a lady. Alot of good laughs.

St. John:

Didn't like the car ferry, but it was very convenient to have a car there. LOVED the people ferry. Nice ride..little choppy, but fun.

Woody's Cafe - Had a great basket of spicey shark bites...mmmmmm

Mararita Phils - Good food, but expensive for lunch. Bring your own bottled water because it's 2.50 there.

Banana Tree - Good food, good ambiance.

Trunk Bay - a must for first timers to snorkel. Saw 2 tarpons (huge) and alot of fish.

Cinnamon - Very pretty beach.

Cinnamon Trail - 30 minutes...we like hiking.

Shopping - some very nice shops there including Mongoose Junction.

Driving - I thought it was fun, some of the hills are hilarious.

The Baths - Gorgeous, beautiful, etc.

Marina Cay - Ate lunch there. Excellent and looks like something out of a magazine. Beautiful

The Breakaway. Stationed at Sapphire Beach. The crew is great. Thanks Kevin and Christin.

Just how beautiful of the US and British Virgin Islands are made our vacation. The mountains coming out of the water EVERYWHERE is mezmerizing. We'll never forget it and plan to come back.

We've been to alot of places, but there's no place like these Islands.

I miss them already.

Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation! You're right, the taxi fares are ridiculous. But it is what it is. It's nice that you ran into people who were willing to drive you. 🙂
