Cuzzins = restaurant with local food. Located on Back Street.
Wifey and I decided to have very late lunch given the crowd in town yesterday. Main street was bustling and the stores were busy. We went in at 3pm and there were only about 4 or 5 vacant tables. I'd say 3/4 of the patrons were tourists from the ships and the rest were locals. At that time in the afternoon there were no more specials as they were all out. Wifey had the vegetarian platter with coleslaw and rice and beans as the sides. I had stewed mutton with rice and beans as well as mixed veggies as sides. We both had virgin mango coladas for drinks.
The drinks were great and hit the spot. My dish was superb and just the right amount of food for me. Wifey on the other hand, well.... let's just say that I have never seen her eat like that before. I'm sure that if there weren't any other patrons in the place she would have licked her plate clean. She left but three grains of rice on the plate! She looked at me with this contented smile on her face. If there was a couch nearby, she would have been on it in two seconds for a post meal nap.
No room for dessert though and I had to nudge her to get going. $22 for lunch plus a modest tip and off we went.
It was nice to see a lit up Christmas tree in a corner at Cuzzins. They did not have any gaudy holiday decor. Just that decorated tree with a big bow on top. And to top it off, they were playing Carribean flavored Christmas music. Sweet!
Yeah, Patrick, I don't think anyone leves Cuzzins hungry! Haha! Great food!
Glad to read you are eating well while in St. Thomas Patrick!! 🙂 Hope you are having a great time.
