We are coming to VI for several weeks and spending time on St. Thomas first, then St John's and then St. Croix. We are staying at Caneel resort and their private ferry is $110 per person unlimited rides. However, we don't need to be ferrying back and forth and also their time schedules aren't as varied as the public ferry. Our last stop in St. Croix seems to have limited time schedule for the ferry so don't want to spend too much time sitting with our luggage and waiting for transportation. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
The inter island ferry schedules and rates are posted under "Quick Links" top right this page. There is currently no ferry service between St Croix and St Thomas and the only way to get between the two is by air - Seaborne (seaplane) or Cape Air are both good choices. No "s" on St John ... 😀
Does the $110 include:
1) Private shuttle from air port to ferry dock?
2) Service between Caneel and Little Dix?
If you have enough time on STJ and want to include a visit to BVI, then $110 is a steal.

I believe the unlimited use of the Caneel ferry is only for use between STT and STJ.
Thank you so much for the information on the ferry to St. Croix. We weren't aware of the problem and now have our flights booked. Also, the ferry to St. John with the hotel is unlimited between St. Thomas and St. John. Since we will already have been in St. Thomas for 5 days and will need to get to the ferry on our own, I can't see where the price is worth it. Would it be better to keep the Jeep we are renting in St. Thomas and ferry it over or take the passenger ferry, a taxi to the hotel and rent a vehicle from the hotel when we get there? Thanks again, this forum is great!
As long as you're not renting from Hertz which doesn't allow their vehicles to be taken to St John I'd stick with your STT rental. That way you can load your luggage up and put it on and off just once on your return trip to STT before you head over to STX. Enjoy your visit!
