Is it feasible to take a ferry from St Croix to the BVI (Tortola or Virgin Gorda) as a day trip Any suggestions on method, information on price, or suggested itinerary are appreciated. We will be there January 21-31

Thanks

I don't know for 100% sure, but I think you would have to take the fast ferry to STT, or the seaplane, then a ferry to the BVI. Anyone kbnow for sure?

Marty is correct.. I wouldn't really take a day trip to the BVI, with the time it takes to get from STX to BVI, there isn't much time to spend there.

You could also fly to Tortola through San Juan, but that is cumbersome (going through customs twice) and expensive.

Hello Hank,

There are no ferries from St. Croix directly to the BVI's. There is a seasonal ferry from St. Croix to St. Thomas so that's an option. The Seaplane has a BVI package, I think combining seaplane and ferry service; I don't know the details. Drop them an e-mail or give them a call and find out: http://www.seaborneairlines.com/
If you are going to go to the BVI's consider going for a night or two to make the commute/$$ worth it.
