I am visiting in June and have some questions about the ferry from Red Hook to West End, Tortola. If you purchase a rountrip ticket is it okay to return the following day? And should I purchase my tickets in advance or will they be readily available due to the low season? THANK YOU

Hi Les.

No need to purchase in advance and returning the next day is fine.

Is there an advantage to take the ferry from Red Hook as opposed to Charlotte Amalie? We want to go to West End to connect to JVD. Our flight arrives in STT about 1:30 this Friday. Also, any advice on how to find the most accurate ferry schedules?

A. Davis might just be having a bad day with that terse response. It's often difficult to remember that newbies to this board have a problem navigating new websites!

Anyway, Les, at the top of this forum page click onto "ST Thomas" and then you'll find the link to the ferry schedules. You can take the downtown (Charlotte Amalie and closer to the airport) ferry to Tortola or taxi to Red Hook. All depends on your airline ETA. Check out the ferry schedules and make your plans accordingly.

If any of us can be of further help, just ask!
