Hello,
We are travelling to St. John next week for the first time and are very excited. Our plan is to catch the 1 PM car ferry to St. John on Thursday, June 5. At the end of the stay we're planning to take the 10 AM ferry back to St. Thomas on Thursday, June 12. Are reservations needed? On the flip side, are there any disadvantages to making a reservation?
And as a follow up questions, any suggestions on good place to eat brunch or an early lunch in St. Thomas before we head to the airport?
Thank you!
No reservation needed for the ferry! We always do lunch at Hook Line and Sinker when we fly! When leaving or coming back!
no res. I like Gladyls for lunch
I've never gotten reservations for a car barge and did not think you could. I did a quick search and came up with http://www.onlinebookinglovecitycarferries.com/ . The site does mention that the Capt. Vic will not be running June 1-7 for the USCG inspection.
For us, we just get in line at Red Hook and get on the next available barge. We do not buy round trip tickets.
Cheers, RickG
Thank you all for the quick responses!
