My husband & I plan to do some brief island hopping on our way to settle in STX. We plan to stay in St. John a couple nights when we arrive & had planned to stay one night in St. Thomas in order to catch the 8 AM ferry to Virgin Gorda from Red Hook (with Inter Island Ferry Service). The schedule shows a Sunday & Thursday departure. Does anyone know if we can catch that same ferry in St. John? I wasn't sure by looking at the ferry schedule. We may decide to stay in St. John all 3 nights if we can go to Virgin Gorda from there, but we want to make sure we don't miss our ride 🙂

I also wanted to know if anyone has an opinion on Carrington's Inn & The Pink Fancy in Christiansted, STX. We plan to stay there while looking for a long-term rental.

Thanks for your help.
Julie

Julie; We just updated the ferry schedules. The schedule for USVI - BVI for Virgin Gorda includes St. John as a leaving point.

Go to https://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/interisland_ferry/

It leaves Red Hook at 8am and Cruz bay at 8:30am!! Same ferry, just starts in St. Thomas then St. John then Virgin Gorda.

Make sure you have proof of nationality.

Have a great time.

Thanks Islander!
You're always on the ball!

Any opinion on us doing a taxi tour of STT before we head over to STJ? We're arriving at 2pm, and would like to atleast see part of STT while we're there. We hope to spend more time touring around at a later date.

Thanks
Julie & Tim

If you aren't tired from traveling sure when you get in at the airport tell one of the taxi drivers that you want a 2 hour tour of the island that ends at the Red Hook dock to catch a ferry to St. John. Make sure you have an idea of the prices. There is a taxi section in getting around in the St. Thomas Guide. Add the tour plus your luggage plus taxi to Red Hook. So you have a ballpark figure of what it should be.
