Hey you experts out there! I was thinking of taking the ferry from STT to Virgin Gorda on next Sunday 5/29 that leaves at 8:00 and returns at 3:00 pm. The fare states $50. I take it this is per person? Also do you happen to know whether children (ages 7 and 8) are charged the full fare?
I'm betting this is a $200 trip for our family of four. We might be better to do the New Horizons II deal.
Thanks for your help!!
I don't know for sure, but my instinct tells me that they'll pay the full fare because they'll take up a seat.
Check the ferry websites for the rates. THe rate is $40 per person round trip. We left from CA and didn't have to clear customs at ST.John since CA has its own customs office. We have done the New Horizons dinner cruise and it is wonderful-- not the day sail. Tortola is wonderful, but you will have to be back at the ferry dock in Road Town by 2 to catch the ferry. That is a lot of money for one day. We did an overnight there.
Hello,
Yes that is $50 a person round trip for the St. Thomas/St. John to Virgin Gorda ferry. That rate is good until June 1st. After June 1st the rate will be $55 a person. There is a $5 departure tax also. Children 1-11 years old are $35 + $5 departure tax right now and after June 1st will be $40 + $5. Babies under 1 years old are pay just the departure tax.
