Does anyone know (I'm sure lots of you do, who am I kidding) if the posted RT fare from Cruz Bay to Jost Van Dyke includes the fee to enter the BVIs? Do we stop at Sopers Hole at all or do they do the immigration thing at Jost?

well, now I think it would be best to do a day sail to Jost. Even tho it would be more than twice the cost (esp. since you have to pay the additional $20 immigration fee) it would be a lot better than watching the clock all day.

You might not spend that much more time, but it will be without clock watching and much more enjoyable. Usual charters will take you snorkeling first, than lunch at Foxy's and than a sail over to the Soggy Dollar where you could spend up to hour and half to two hours.

...and just which day sail do YOU recommend, promo, for doing just what you described? I've been looking at all these websites, and just cannot decide. I wanted to try the Ike Witt, but it doesn't go to Jost.

Hey Mountaineer Girl

Check out the thread titled "Looking for a sail/boat trip to Jost for 6-8 people"

I have been trying to decide the same thing, and this thread definitely helped.

Check out the website for the Wayward Sailor ( http://www.waywardsailor.net ). Captain Phil Chalker does excellent sail/snorkel trips. We did a full day sail/snorkel with him several years ago. In February, we will sail with him to JVD one day and do a full day sail/snorkel with him the next day. We really like his guided snorkels - he is so knowledgeable about reef ecology. He also serves good food and is great fun to talk with.
