*We are planning to head to Virgin Gorda for three days in May after 10 days in St John. We would like to go over by Ferry. It looks like the inter-island Ferry doesn't run thru to Virgin Gorda on Weds. We would have to get off at Tortola and take a different one on to Virgin Gorda. Am I reading this schedule correctly? (www. Speedybni.com)Is this difficult? Would there be someplace in Tortola to check our luggage so we could spend a couple of hours on Tortola without hauling our luggage around? Has anyone done this or is it just better to head to the airport and catch a flight over?
Thanks,
Gail S
Gail: Don't worry about having to change ferries. The airport is on the other end of St Thomas, so you would be back-tracking quite a bit. The ferry ride is fun.
Thanks for the reply. There are two ferry docks in Tortola. Can we catch a different ferry at the same dock and then go Virgin Gorda or are we going to have to take a taxi to the the other dock? Thanks,
Gail
Gail: I found this: http://www.bvitravel.com/ferries/ which explains the ferry schedules. I believe you will want to go to Road Town to get the Virgin Gorda ferry, or you could go into West End and take a taxi tour over to Road Town.
