Can someone PLEASE tell me ASAP if the ferries run on Christmas day from St. Thomas to Tortola. I would like to surprise my family for Christmas, but finances are forcing me to sleep over in St. Thomas Christmas eve in order to get a cheaper ticket. My plan is to be a Christmas surprise to my family but I obviously cannot ask them this question. I need to purchase my ticket today, so PLEASE, anyone ASAP tell me if the ferries operate on Christmas day. Thank you much.
When I've checked in the past with both the St. John and Tortola ferries regarding holiday hours they have always said its the same schedule. Did call the Fast Ferry, Smiths and Native Son to double check. Fast Ferry and Native Son; no answer (they are likely already closed for the day). Smiths said at this time they plan to run their regular schedule on Christmas Day; advance reservation is always nice but not necessary, be there 20 minutes before the departure you want to take. You can find the ferry companies + their telephone numbers and schedule on the Ferry Schedule page of this site. Good idea to call them and double check the departure time you would like to take.
