We can't see your pics!!! Try going to photobucket.com and uploading your images. Then copy the image code (IMG Code) after your image is uploaded. Paste that code into the body of your message on this board and click "preview". You should then see your pics.

Here's one of my husband. I love to get shots of him from behind cause then he can't hide from the camera, haha. I just love the color of this water. It's soooooo amazing!!!

You need to type img, paste the url address and type /img after it. No spaces between, preffix url and suffix

Thank you! I took it last summer on our last day there. Hubby and I started the day at Kittle, walked up to Peace Hill, then over to Dennis, followed by Honeymoon and Jumbie. It was our first time at Dennis and if it weren't for the fact that I forgot my sunblock, we would have stayed for more than 20 minutes. I'm very fair-skinned, so being without my sunblock is very bad. The burning overheats my body and I get really nauseated. As you can imagine, the hike back wasn't so good. The ice cream in Cruz Bay following that hike did help, though! I can hardly wait to go back to Dennis and get more pics on our next trip. The water was so beautiful and the hillside appears so untouched.

Where is Dennis Bay? I can't remember, but I know of it.

What are those things in the water?

Thanks 🙂

I was thinking of starting a post just like this last week! How fun!

My husband on Sugar Beach at Point Pleasant.

I love this one because you can see both the sign and then the islands in the photo.

😀 I had to take this pic from the nature trail just to show my friends at work. 😉

Sunburned...proof of the fun we had. LOL We had our waiter at Agave take this for us..he was fun!

One of my favorite pic from St. John, taken in the mid-90's. Unfortunately, Grumpy's had a major propane tank explosion not too long after this was taken and is no more!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe those "things" are remnants of the dock that was destroyed during a hurricane several years ago. I think I read about it in my STJ Beach Guide or the FF&FWD.

Pictures are beautiful! I must go to Denis Bay next trip!!!

I just read this online:

>>>Denis Bay is now part of the Virgin Islands National Park, but the structures and some of the land behind the beach have been leased to private interests. Please confine your visit to the area between the sea and the line of first vegetation.

I also read this:

>>>Denis Bay is only accessible by rugged Peace Hill Trail or boat

So do you take the Peace Hill Trail? How rugged is it?

Thanks 🙂

Yes, you guys are all correct! A hurricane hit a few years ago (I want to say Marilyn....I may be wrong) destroying the dock. Those posts are what used to support the dock.

The beach is accessible via a trail, which runs perpendicular to the Peace Hill trail. There is a small parking lot and a fairly wide trail leading up to Peace Hill. When you're on the trail, partway up the hill, you'll notice a very narrow trail begins on your righthand side. I can't remember if it's marked or not, but I think it's the only one, so you'll probably figure it out. The Peace Hill trail is short, so you won't have far to walk before finding the smaller trail down to Dennis.

Anyway, once you get on that narrow trail, you'll walk single-file. It's that narrow, somewhat rugged, but not very difficult. You'll go up and down small hills, but all of it leads down to the beach. You'll hear the water and see the water so you won't get lost. Once you get down to the beach, turn right. Just keep walking and you'll soon see Dennis.

You will want to stay on the beach. Don't walk up toward the house as it is private property. I think there are signs so you shouldn't be confused.

The day we were there it was pretty rough. I don't know if this is the norm. It's so incredibly beautiful and really worth the trip down.

I'll see if I can find more pics to post.
