Took the New Horizons snorkeling day sail yesterday and it exceed all of my 7-person group's expectations. I've had a lot of boating experience but never sailied, and this was a beautiful 65-foot sailboat. The captain, Sven and his crew, Bill, were the perfect hosts. We got juice and breakfast cakes, took a ride over to St. John while being entertained with stories and local history facts, then snorkled for about an hour. Then we were served a delicious lunch of meatballs, salads, fresh fruit, cheese and bread and had an open bar all day which they generously served and served and served! Then we sailed over to Christmas Cove and snorkled another hour and a half. The snorkel spots were great .. Saw many many varieties of sealife including spotted stingrays and a big barracuda. This trip was a 6 hour trip for $75 per person. Worth every penny. They have other powerboats that take you to the BVI and make several stops. While I am sure those are very nice, we will do the sailboat again next trip down. My son said he didn't see how anything could top that sailboat trip. As for me, I have caught the sailing bug ..
Ruby, have you posted a review on other sites? I'm sure they'd appreciate that. I've been wanting to try New Horizons for a long time, and I'm glad to see you posted the lunch menu. How were the meatballs cooked? BBQ? Marinara? Swedish? Plain?
Meatballs were Maranara and Parmesan cheese .. Everyone wanted the recipe. They had a warm green bean casserole and a pasta and veggie salad. dessert was brownies with icing and kiwi on top,. they had pitchers aplenty of Pain Killers plus all other rail drink fixings.
Sounds good! Hopefully I can go out with them in August.

They usually go to Honeymoon Beach in STJ and stop at Christmas Cove on Great St James on the way back - sometimes Rendezvous Bay STJ if there is a North swell instead of Honeymoon- there are days when it is filled up on board and may feel crowded but they have been doing it a long time successfully - well kept ferro cement hull, sloop rig, reliable engine, good crew, food and drink.
