We have a place to stay on Water Island March 6-11. We would like to stay in the VI until the 14th. We're having trouble finding a reasonably priced place to stay for those extra 3 days. Place seem to like to book rooms by the week. Any suggestions on how we can stay longer?

Hi Minnesota-

What do you want to spend per night, max? How many in your party?

I know, that minimum thing is a hassle!

Check on Bunker Hill Hotel B&B located on Bunker Hill in town. Has a shuttle to the airport and is a short distance from the ferry and town. You can find it under St Thomas hotels or accommodations.
It looks very clean and comfortable. It has harbor views and so handy to many things, all within walking distance. If you decide to stay there, I would like a report. Have thought about staying there myself.
Keep us all posted.
Good Luck...Sleeper18

We're hoping to stay under $200 a night. We need sleeping for 4 because we have 2 - 17 year old girls with us.

Try the Holiday Inn, we'll be there for one night after our WAter Island stay. Close to walking to downtown, and it has a pool. We're from minnesota, too.

Hi kwinter,

We did check with the Holiday Inn and they do have space. We've done Holiday Inn on many mainland trips and they're generally a good deal. We were hoping for something more unique before we haed back to the cold routine of Minnesota.

If you would like to stay those last 3 nights on STX, I can put you in a condo for $300 total for the 3 nights. If that's of interest, you can reach me via private message or at [email protected]

You should also be able to get into Sapphire or Secret Harbour for your budget.

There is a private condo at Sapphire that is beautiful, Amethyst. It runs $200 per night and sleeps 4 in 1 Queen bedroom and 2 single sofa beds in LR - has 750 interior sq ft. See below....

For slightly more ($225 in high season), you can rent a highly sought, lovely 2 bedroom/2 bath split level condo at the gated Mahogany Run Golf Club (has pools an is just up the road from Magen's Bay) - the condo is called Mahogany Breeze. It has a king master bedroom with its own oceanfront balcony, a second bedroom upstairs with oceanfront balcony and 2 twin beds, and a third oceanfront gallery off the living room. Sq footage is 1,350....
