Hi All

This is my 4th question and I am sure there will be more to follow. Thank you all for your advice so far. I am actually an independant travel agent and I am trying to combine a family vacation with a familiarization trip to the USVI that will enable me to better sell the islands to my clients. I am planning this vacation for myself, husband, 2 kids and we are also bringing Grandpa (March 25 - Apr 1).

One of the days just my husband and I are going to ferry to St John and either rent a jeep or a dinghy for the day. Any opinions on which way to go on this one?

Also, Is there a good fresh market close to Sapphire Beach? We will dine out alot but I would also like to cook as well and want some good fresh seafood & steaks.

Thanks to everyone for helping-
Take care
Christie

For fruits and veggies, meat and fish, try Marina Market in Red Hook. It is a hop, skip and a jump from Sapphire.

How long are you staying? If you are renting a car you can take it over on the ferry one day and just drive around. It's really nice.

You could also take the people ferry over another day and rent the dinghy. It's right there as you get off the ferry.

Personally, If I had to do one or the other, I would rent the dinghy. We loved it and it was beautiful from the water.

Considering that you're a travel agent doing research, I think you would be better off either hiring a taxi for a private tour of the island, or renting a car & touring the island on your own. The dinghy would limit you to only the north shore beaches. There's so much more to the island than that.
