I was reading the other post about underwater housings and figured it best to start my own. I didn't even know such a thing existed before reading that thread and now I'm intrigued. I own an Olympus C-765 and they do make a housing, polycarbonate, for it. I can get it for about $100 which seems to be a lot less than it originally was. I can't find any reviews on it anywhere, has anyone here used it?
Thanks,
Keri
Hi Keri, I have an Olympus C-3000 camera which has a similar body design to yours. I purchased an underwater housing for it (PT-010) and couldn't be happier. The housing allows you access to all the controls on the camera and comes with a weight for neutral buoyancy. Other companies make housing that would have fit my camera but I would have lost a great deal of functionality because of not having access to all the controls. It's very comfortable to use and floats along with you when not in use via an adjustable wrist strap.
Your housing (PT-022) looks very similar to mine so I think you'd be very happy with the purchase.
Here's a link to some pictures I took with it.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll get one for our trip in November. Any tips on taking pictures underwater? I've only used the disposable ones before. Lighting was always an issue - can you use the flash underwater? Does the zoom work ok - although lighting would probably then be an issue...
Thanks,
Keri
Hi again, because you will be able to use all the controls on your camera with the housing, you’re going to need to try different settings to see what works best. I've taken lots of pictures underwater and it hit or miss if they come out good. That's probably because I don't know what the heck I'm doing. 🙂 Try doing a Goggle search for "taking pictures underwater". Lots of good results.
As far as the flash and zoom both work. The housing has a diffuser plate in front of the flash that smoothes things out I guess.
Sorry I can't give you more. I sure others on this board can give you much better information and I look forward to my next underwater photo shoot in the USVI.
