Hi everyone... I am staying in August at the Bellvista Bed + Breakfast for my honeymoon. I love to run and wondered where the locals generally run. The proprietor mentioned Magen's bay. Where else? Is there a gym nearby? I know its my vacation, but I love to exercise and do it daily no matter what is going on 🙂 Thanks in advance for your help!

I am a runner too, but after seeing how hilly St Thomas and St John is, I didn't even bother. I took 8 days off from it.

The only places that I could imagine that you could run would be in town (Charlotte Amalie) it's flat there or any of the longer beaches. That's about it.

Also, running on any major road there is VERY dangerous. There are no sidewalks and there's a good chance you could get hit.

The big running venues are: Magens to Peterborg, the waterfront, the road by the airport (flat) and the National Park Road out by Red Hook. Be very careful as drivers do not acknowledge a runner's right to be on the road.

I am gathering this is not the Bella Vista in Sugar Estate. Where is it?

I am so jealous....Bellavista BnB is amazing! We stayed there in May and loved it. Wendy is so sweet and her breakfasts are amazing. The place is absolutely perfect.
As far as exercising, I know the locals go to Megan's early in the morning and you could possibly run on the waterfront of Charlotte Amalie, but I think the climb from town to Bellavista is a pretty good workout. You can always climb the 99 steps upto Blackbeard's castle nearby. Just do some good snorkeling and not worry about it...your on vacation!

Bellavista is right above me EE.
You can run the waterfront as most do, or go to the local high school track. It has a 1/4 mile regulation track tha folks use.

Ah, then Jamie...if you want to do a little hill work, run up Crystal Gade from Garden Street to Ronnie's place at the top of the hill...repeat.

I really can't wait to stay there either! Thanks for the report about the breakfast- one of the many great things about staying at a BnB. I appreciate all the tips!
