My wife and I are arriving 1/31/04 via Celebrity cruise lines. We plan on setting up our own snorkeling excursion after arriving in port. Any suggestions or ideas on what companies are good and close to the port?
Joe: If you have your own equipment, all you need is a ride to the beach. On St Thomas: Coki, Sapphire, Secret Harbour and John Brewer's all have good snorkeling, depending on the conditions. Or you can ferry independently over to St John and try one of the beaches there! Even if you don't have your own equipment, you can rent it at the first 3 beaches named.
Hello Joe,
When I think snorkeling excursion I often think a day sail snorkeling trip - is that what you are looking for?? If you aren't familiar with this it is a day sail usually max 6 guest, you can go out for half day or full day - the captain takes you out sailing between St. Thomas - St. John, makes a snorkel stop or 2, stops at a beach, might include drinks, lunch or snacks. Its a fun way to spend the day.
If you meant a beach snorkeling excursion - you can do this on your own at the beaches East Ender mentioned. The snorkeling at these beaches is accessiable by swimming from the shore line our around the rocky coast or to very close to shore reef/rock areas. If you are definate that you want to go with a guide from a beach then you can try Coki Dive, they have guided snorkeling on Coki Beach.
You can also do super snorkeling by doing Sea Trekkin or something like that.
