*I just can't decide what to do- we will be stopping in St. Thomas on our cruise- we will be with our 4 grown daughers. We all love to snorkel, swim, enjoy beach. Three of us like to do a little shopping. We all also like to view the wildlife- like an aquarium type thing. Should we go to St. John and enjoy Trunk or Cinnamon and try to make it back to shop in afternoon in St. Thomas- or just stay in St. Thomas and go to Coki, Coral World, and then shop? We also don't like our day to be all rushing. Some is ok, but not crazy. Also I love history- would I be sorry to miss the sugar plantation ruins or Blackbeard's Castle? Thanks for your input.

Coral world, Coki and shopping would cover your bases. And while shopping in town, you could visit the old fort there to quench your thirst for history. It's the red building between the big parking lot and the vendor's plaza.

Hello,

I agree with Patrick. Coral World then Coki. (Tip: Bring a change of cloths, save your ticket stub for Coral World and then you can go back there to use their restrooms to change. Making that note, because spending the rest of day in semi-wet or dry/satly cloths can be uncomfortable. Also their restrooms are nicer than the Coki beach ones. Coral World also has lockers.) You might have lunch at Coki.

Take a taxi to town, have them drop you off at Blackbeards Castle (if you didn't have lunch you can eat there or downtown). From there walk into town via the 99 steps (thats two historical sites) and then you can go to the fort.

You can read about the historial sites on this site; at the top of this page click on St. Thomas, and then choose Attractions. In that section read through attractions in Charlotte Amalie.

If you are running low on time catch a taxi back to Havensight (most ships dock there). There are taxis at Vendors Plaza (which if you have time, you can shop for t-shirts and other souvenir type items). Vendor's Plaza is right next to the fort. There is shopping at Havensight also. If you have time then you can shop downtown and catch a taxi back to the ship when you are ready. (If your ship is an anchor in the harbor then just stay in town, thats where the tenders come in. Or if you are at Crown Bay, you can catch a taxi from town to Crown Bay.)

This is a full day, get started early. Have a great time.

Plan another trip to get St. John. 🙂
