We are making plans for our trip back to the island next April.

We think that we would like to try out Estate Lindholm, based on all of the wonderful reviews.

Has anyone stayed in both the Garden and Harbor view rooms? It appears that the price difference for the rooms will be around $35 per nite. We will be staying 6 nites.

Are the views that much better? I have heard that some of the garden rooms actually have a water/harbor view as well.

Am leaning toward paying the little extra to have an upper floor & supposedly better view.

Any comments or suggestions (even particular room reference - would be great!

Thanx!

I star stayed in the Harbor view room last year. I think the minimal fee for the view is worth it! We could see the harbor each morning as we woke -- left the curtains open! It was wonderful. Estate Lindholm is a great place and the owners are great. We are returning this year with some friends and elected to get a villa since there were 4 of us, but plan to go by and say hello.

Thanx for the reply.

We are leaning towards paying the extra for the Harbor view, as well. Might as well splurge!

Go for the Harbor View! Here is a photo of the view from one of them taken when my wife and I were there last November!

Thank you!

I have a call in to Lauren, as we speak!

Just curious, do you remember what room you had? Of course, I assume that most or all of the Harbor view rooms all have the same great view.

Hi Sue,

I wish I could remember the room name, but I don't. It was the farthest room to the left upstairs - I'm sure Lauren could tell you which one that is. Have fun.

We stayed in the room "Rhendevous" which is right noxt door to "Honeymoon" which is directly under the owner's suite. Tell lauren I said hello -- she will remember me as Carla. Have a great time. You will love this place.

Thanks for the compliments, Sue. We are going back this summer with my two daughters and my 7 week old son - he'll be 4 months when we go. I'm not sure if we are crazy or just addicted. It will be great to see the looks on my daughters' faces when they see St. John. They've never left the mainland!

Ken,

What a different and wonderful experience this trip it will be for you!

Addicted is I guess what you would call making reservations for the next trip within a week of returning home. - In my defense, it is a busy week - the last week in April and I certainly don't like to leave these "important" decisions in life to chance or missed opportunities due to procrastination.

But, truthfully, it has been a blast since before our first trip in 2005 to be seeing the same names of people on this & (the other) forum.

No wonder the Virgin Islands are the best - they have the best and nicest people going to them! - Okay the beaches aren't bad either.

Can't wait to see your upcoming vacation shots!

Thank you, Carla

I will certainly say "hi" to her for you.

I am getting a little anxious - I left a message with, I believe, Brion, on Saturday nite & I left another message on the machine for Lauren today & still haven't received a return call from her.

Maybe they are just trying to figure out 2007 rates before she calls me back.

I am just a little bit of a worry wart until all is buttoned-up. Boy, you can tell that I am not on "island mode or island time" anymore.

I need to chill.

I always corresponded by e-mail with Lauren. Do you have the e-mail address? It is [email protected]

She does a lot for her guests and is in and out. Try the e-mail and then you can followup with phone call.

Yes, I most certainly did! And of course, I extended your "Hi" to her. She does sound very nice!

Are you the one that has a review out on Trip Advisor? For a December 2005 stay?

If so, I saw it & your pictures were great and congratulations on your 25th anniversary! (Sure hope that it is you - or I am going to sound like an idiot!)

I think she said that this room is what she believes to be "their most private room" and I think she said that it is an "end" room - is that correct?

Anything else you can tell me??

Thanx!

I am not the one who did the trip review, but saw that review as well and the pictures were wonderful and brought back memories for us! We stayed in that room last year in May for our 21st wedding anniversary. It is an end room, but there are only two on that floor. The owner's suite is above this room. This is a very small and quaint place so you will absolutely love it!

Are you planning to rent a car? We were there for only 4 days, but are going back this July for an entire week with our best friends so have opted for a villa this year. The trek down the hill from the Estate is not bad, but a little more difficult going back. My husband and I both athletic, so we did not mind the short hike, but it is very dark at night so just be careful. You can always hail one of the cab's and be up the hill in 2 minutes flat for about $3.

When are you going? I think you said 2007 -- bet you can't wait that long!

Carla,

Oops - sorry for the confusion - but, congrats on your upcoming anniversary!

Estate Lindholm has gotten such glowing reviews - I know that we will be thrilled.

We just got back a couple of weeks ago from a 7 night stay in a villa on St. John and 2 nights at Secret Harbour on St. Thomas. Yes, we did rent a car ( a Jeep, actually) and loved it. I am sure that we will again - as, it is great to explore the island.

I think that one of the reasons that we want to go back is that we really became familiar with the island & it will feel like "going home" again.

We are actually counting the weeks - not days to our next St. John vacation. We are now down to 49 weeks this Saturday. Can't even think of counting the days - the number is too high!

Happy for you that your trip will be coming up soon!

Thank you for the lovely replies & have a great trip!

What villa? You may have posted this, but I have forgotten. We are staying in a villa on Gifft Hill -- Plumeria! I have only come across one person has stayed here, but it had glowing remarks. However -- is there really a bad place on St. John? We can't wait!

We stayed at Cielo Vista - managed by Carefree Getaways. If you google it - you will find it.

It was an amazing villa - only started having renters in November of last year. Really beautiful & the view was to die for.

Great views from up on Gifft Hill. I don't remember seeing where Plumeria is - but, I am sure that you will have an awesome time!
