I will be staying in St. John and have a flight at 945am from STT arpt. I will need to take the car ferry back.
I believe there is a ferry leaving St John at 6am-does anyone know for sure and would that be enough time to get to the STT arpt?

Thanks!

if you go to this website:www.vinow.com/ and click on ferry schedules, that should help you out.

Should work, but it will be tight! You need to be at the airport at least 2 hours before the flight. If the barge leaves at 6 AM, you will be in RH at 6:30, the airport by 7, with 45 minutes to spare to turn in the car.

Kimberly,

sounds like it would work - make sure your at the barge early.... there isn't much organization to say buy a ticket or make a reservation, you just show up, everyone is in their cars lined up parallel to eachother, not in a line really, and waiting. LOL... gets a bit frustrating, but I have only not gotten on once or twice out of many many times.

Have a great time.

Note:
The Daily News, 6/19, reports that 2 of the 3 car ferries b/w STT and STJ will be OUT OF SERVICE until at least 6/25. The cutback has apprently caused significant delays and jams. Kimberly, when are your travel plans?

They were having trouble in early June as well, had some guest on island visiting, they were at the dock at 9am ish to catch the ferry and sat there till a little after 11am because of trouble with only one ferry running as I understood from their comments. A few days later used the car barge again without any trouble.

I would suggest Kimberly that if you are traveling at that time you might come over to St. Thomas the day before and spend the night at one of the beach hotels by the airport OR... bring the car back to St. Thomas the day before and use the people ferry but then you spend $$ and time going and back and forth to return the car early.

Kimberly if your travel is further away then this month, then closer to the time of travel call the car barge operators and confirm they are operational, do that again when you are on island on vacation perhaps 2 or 3 days before you leave.

Yea, the way it looks, you would be safer staying the night in STT at B & B maybe?
I was over there last weekend. Coming back Monday it was hairy, made it ok though.
You will need to leave at 6 to be on time. The 6 barge is the one that is down. Heed our warnings!
