Hi All,

My finance and I are going to St Thomas on 4-14-07 for our Honeymoon. We are staying at The Best Western Emerald Beach. Anybody been there? How is the hotel like? The virtual tour looks great, but that can be misleading. Any suggestions for things to do in the surrounding area? Like where to eat and hot spots for night life?? We are for sure going to make our way to Megans Beach, that is a must from what I hear. Any suggestions or feedback on the hotel would be greatly appreciatied!!!
13 more days and we will be there : )

This hotel does get mixed reviews as most people who stay there appear to do so for a short time not an extended stay as this hotel is at the airport (I assume you knew that)

I would suggest you rent a car as taxi's will add up - you are about 10 mins from CA with the shopping, and a taxi will be approx $8.00 per person (plus tip) each way and taxi's to the beaches will be alot more - so for that price you can rent a car. St Thomas has alot to offer - great beaches, great food and shopping etc, and when you add the price of going to a beach in the am, returning to your hotel to change and going out to dinner you can easily spend upwards of $80.00 per day on taxi's, so a car (to me) makes sense.

You do have a beach at your hotel, but most people who visit STT travel to a different beach daily (Coki, Megans etc) to see the true flavour and beauty of the island.

Do take a day trip to St John, I think you will enjoy it.

Happy honeymoon

Pia

We stay there on our way to St. John for one night and then on our return. The hotel is nice but not the best. the beach is not that clear blue water you find at other beaches but it is nice for a swim. Not very good for snorkeling. The last time I did see a turtle popping up now and then. It has a great out door pool and bar. The food was great for breakfast. Go and see the Island and St. John while there during the day and come back and relax at the beach at the end of the day. You will hear airplanes landing and taking off but I didn't seem to mind it all that much.
All and all for the price you can't beat it. I think the hotel offers shuttle service to the shopping district but not sure on the price. check with the hotel.

GKeyser looked to the skies and expounded with a mighty sigh, "My finance and I are going to St Thomas on 4-14-07 for our Honeymoon...."

*wink, wink!*

The sooner you know who's holding those purse strings, the better...! To the fiancee, you go, girl! LOL!
