I am staying at a condo right next door to this hotel.
Can anyone give me info on how strict they are. If we buy drinks and lunch at thei pool areas will they mind if we use their pool?

No one polices the Elysian pool and doubt that, especially in the "off season," it will be crowded or a problem. Bonnie's is right on the beach at the Elysian, a small grille for breakfast, lunch and dinner (some nites with music). You can use the beach lounges on the main beach or Hugo without a problem also since the Cowpet Condo Assoc maintains the beach. If your condo doesn't have floats, suggest you take a cheapie inflatable one if you like floating in the water since you'd have to rent one from the beach shack. Also check to see if the condo has a small cooler to use. Comes in handly for taking water/soda/whatever to the beach (and on treks) unless you are staying in one of the Cowpet West units that are on the beach.

suspect there are lots of dining suggestions but do suggest that you might want to rent a vehicle during your stay. Red Hook is just a short ride away with good options for dinner. There is lots of choices there from Off the Hook (you might see mention of Cafe Wahoo, it's former name), Caribbean Saloon (sports bar which I hear has good prime rib - ?). Molly Malone's is in the Yacht Harbour (pub-like) but don't get the corned beer and upstairs, Whale of a Tale for seafood menu. Sopchoppys is casual and if you enjoy the ambience of Duffy's it might be a good watering hole for you. There's Frigate East and a couple of other casual spots - East Coast Grille, Wok and Roll, Senior Pizza. Beyone Red Hook, toward Smith Bay, is Romano's which is high end Italian and Toad and Tart (an "authentic English pub") if you are into good roasted beast and Shepard's pie and some unusual brews on tap. At Compass Point, you'll find Raffles (altho I haven't tried it since it changed owners) which is getting good reports and Dottie's which is low key home-cooking by Dottie herself, an island legacy! Not to miss is Blue Moon Cafe at Secret Harbour (the turn is right off BlackBeards Road) and a new spot that I enjoyed at Cabrita Point, Seafood Jungle (also off BlueBeard's Road going into Red Hook). Great breakfast, lunches and goodies at the Grateful Deli in Red Hook. One of my favs is Old Stone FarmHouse which is a bit of a ride out by the golf couse bur enjoyable. In FrenchTown, I enjoy Alexander's. For local cusine, might want to try Cuzzin's on Back Street and the ecclectic atmosphere at Virgilio's is good. I do enjoy the Cafe at the Ritz. There are just so many choices and I am sure I've forgotten many!
If you are going to be there this summer, you might want to check out the Rotary Dining-Out coupon book. With lots of 2-fer's, it's only $15 and with one meal, it pays for itself! You can email [email protected] for details or pick it up at Color of Joy in American Yacht Harbour.
