I came upon this link on another forum. It's a pretty good intro to what driving can be like on STJ, although it's not representative of every mile that we travel there. Still, it might prepare some folks who don't fully realize that it can be very different than what they're used to. It also shows why most people like a 4WD vehicle. Even without rain that road could be a challenge without 4wd. With a little rain.....

Anyone recognize the area?

There are also a few other STJ videos there that I enjoyed.

I caught the video on another forum too. It's the drive up Calabash Boom in Coral Bay. I made that drive several times last year. I almost peed m'pants the first time driving up there!

That's great!!! I do forget what it's really like. Has the feeling of the first uphill on a roller coaster. Some of the switchbacks on the island are unbelivable. It would be fun to see a video going downhill too.

Thanks for the link to the video of the drive to up Calabash Boom, it brings back tons of memories. We are counting the days to our return to STJ (less than 85 days) where we can once again drive up and down that same road every day. It is truly an amazing ride up and once there the view is a piece right out of a paradise picture book! Thanks!
