I went by there yesterday to check them out, and they are more than just a tour company - it's also a research facility. I tried to make a reservation for tomorrow (Sat), but there are 3 ships in town, so they have a group of 50 going on the tour. I'd prefer a smaller tour, so I'll try again next week. I've heard good things about them, and met one of their guides who was very friendly and well-spoken. He's been with them for 11 years. They also do tours for Caneel, so that's another good thing.

Please post a review if you decide to go.

i assume you are talking about the mangrove ecotour out in the east end.

i went on the tour that included the kayak and snorkel, and it was fun. i found the staff to be engaging, pleasant and hardly seeing what they were doing as "work"

i was skittish about going, not being "miss athlete" and all, but there was an orientation session, they let us hold some of the jelly fishes to see that they were not dangerous (it's a good thing, because there were thousands of them at the floor of the lagoon and i'd certainly have leaped into the sky right from the briny)... and after getting our mask lesson and strapped into our life vests, we were off.

we were educated on how a mangrove ecosystem works, and kayaked out to where we could snorkel and enjoy the undersea life. we'd really worn ourselves out, but since we were all enjoying ourselves so much, we did not realize that we were likely dehydrated and worn out. fresh water and a sweet snack, and we were headed back from our tour, tired, thrilled, and educated.

did i say it was great?(tu)

ANITA IS RIGHT. THE TOUR IS VERY GOOD AND YOU WILL LEARN A LOT. YOU MIGHT TRY OFFSHORE ROCK CLIMBING (344-5195). I HEAR THAT THEY PUT ON A DIFFERENT TOUR.
