Hi! I am planning on renting a Villa on the East end of St. John for a week in March. From everything I have read it seems that there arent really any of the classic white sand beaches St. John is famous for on that side of the island. If anyone has any information or tips on the beaches on the east end, I would be very grateful for any information! Also, does anyone know the driving times from cruz bay to the east end, and driving times to some of the more famous beaches? Thank you so much for any help!

30 minutes from the ferry dock to the east end. Well worth the drive....very quiet over there. Stay on the east end and drive over to the North Shore (Truck/Cinnamon/Maho) to get your white powdery beach fix.

Lameshure is very nice, though not on the "east end" it's on the Coral Bay end of the island. Now that the road is mostly concrete to Lameshure, the drive is a bit easier. Though not White powdery beach, Haulover bay both sides are great snorkeling, tho the side nearest the road is very calm, and the other side (north?) is a bit rougher. White sandy beaches are Cinnamon, Salt Pond is not bad, Francis is beautiful. Oh, visit them all. Each has it's own charms.!
