Hello,
My soon-to-start trip to St. John and Jost will end on Thursday, March 8th. The one thing I haven't really fine tuned yet is how to get from Jost to St. Thomas on 3/8 to catch a 3:50 pm flight.
Any suggestions? The villa operator has suggested leaving Jost at 9, ferry to Tortola, then ferry to St. John, then ferry to Charlotte Amalie.....arriving around noon. I like to get to the airport early, but four hours early will be a bad way to end the trip, I think. Plus, I'd love to have time to have a final painkiller or early swim, if I can.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks, kimba
ps. if anyone has any recommendations for day tripssails out of Jost, I'd love to hear them
Hi Kimba,
I am in the same situation. There may be differences in costs, but I planned on taking a ferry from JVD to the West End, then directly to STT. Stopping in STJ in between West End and STT just adds another leg to the journey. As I said, it may be cheaper that way, but will probably also take longer.
This link has the USVI and BVI inter-island ferry schedules:

Hope this helps. Please post when you get back to let me know which route you took. I will be doing the same in May.
Have fun!
Tim
You could try hanging out at Soggy and asking people you see coming off boats if you could get a lift back with them, if you are comfortable doing this. Toss them the $50 you would spend on the ferry as incentive? Or ask at White Bay Villas, Ivans, or Corsairs, there used to be a guy there that would take people back anytime for just $50 which is a steal. If I could only get his number.... $100 roundtrip is a steal especially on your own schedule.
