I need advice on a good dry case or something to keep items such as keys, i.d., and money dry while snorkeling. Any suggestions on what has worked for you in the past? Also, I seem to remember reading that it isn't safe to leave valuables in a locked vehicle, so what do you do with your stuff when you are both snorkeling - leave it sitting on the beach? I'm sure these questions have been answered in the past, but I'm obviously not typing in the right search terms in the search engine because I'm not finding anything. Thanks!

lock them in your trunk and just keep that key in your pocket or wear around your neck

You can find small watertight cases in dive/scuba shops. That's what we have for those little items, goes around your next or tie it around your wrist. Works pretty well. We leave everything of any value back in our eco-tent on past trips, will do the same on our next trip back this Nov

I purchased a case at REI - probably available on the web as well - I can't remember the name of it though!. They are water tight and have an attached carrying string/strap. They come in various sizes depending on how much stuff you want to put into them. Works very well for the purpose you mentioned.

I check with my insurance agent to make sure the contents of the car are covered, then I leave them in the car and have a good time.

The downside is that there is a deductible and some things won't be covered.

I've never had a problem in the Caribbean, but I did have a rental car broken into in Spokane to the tune of $1,500.
