Are the roads pass salt pond bay paved or dirt roads? we are planning on hiking to Blue Cobblestone to snorkel
The road to Salt Pond is paved. The road to Lameshure is not and 4 WD recommended when wet and rainy as it has been. Don't know where Blue Cobblestone is so can't answer that.
Blue Cobblestone is a hike past Salt Pond on the way to Ram's Head so the same parking lot, OK without 4WD. I've done Lameshur with and without 4WD doable but wouldn't chance it again.
As Boomerang said, for Blue Cobblestone you start at Salt Pond and head south along the Rams Head trail so a car is fine. The Lameshur's is too far west but if you do want to go there I highly recommend 4WD.
Agree..... need a jeep to get to Little or Great Lameshur...... went a couple of times two weeks ago...... didn't actually need 4WD but needed the height since there were many ruts/holes filled with water that looked like small ponds. Would not have been able to get through in a car.
