I know there is no nude sunbathing or beaches in St. Thomas (besides Little Magens Bay), but I was wondering what the feeling is about thong (wicked weasel) swimsuits. I would like to lay out on the beach without having to worry about tanlines. Can you please respond and let me know what the feelings on the island are about these? Thanks
When we were walking Meagan's Bay beach, there were a couple "thong sunbather's'". No one seemed to be bothered by them.
Much more conservative on the other beaches....more family orientated.
I don't see anything wrong wearing it on the beach, but don't go shopping on Main St. wearing it.
In town, men should have a shirt on, and NO bathing suits for both men and women.

And we highly recommend that men do NOT wear them! Ladies only! Haha!
My fiancee wear her wicked weasel almost every weekend. We avoid Magens though very crowded.

Thongs are fine and legal, just cover up when off the beach. Shorts and shirts a must when going into town.
With thongs, if you lead the way others will follow. If you are staying at a beach front hotel, wear a thong every day at a beach and others their that week will start to do the same.
Remember that almost all the other beach goers are tourists like you. People look to the others on a beach to see what is allowed, if you set an example by wearing a thong others will feel comfortable in trying their smaller suits the next day. Most young women packed a small swim suit hoping the trip would be both tropical and exotic, you just have to set an example so they will feel comfortable breaking it out.
If you get out on the beach first others may be inspired by your example,, get out their small suits, and gravitate towards you.
