Hi-
I'm going to St. Thomas next week and have never been there or to the Virgin Islands. This may sound like a dumb question but I have to ask -- what are the dress codes like in the bars/clubs there?
I figure it's island casual pretty much everywhere. I usually wear jeans and a dress shirt when going to a bar or club and I figure we'll go out a few times when we are there for the week.
Basically, will the bars/clubs in St. Thomas be ok with jeans, or is that a no-no? 😛
Thanks
Chuck
Hello Chuck,
Most residents/locals wear jeans when they go out at night to bars - jeans and a t-shirt or jeans and a polo shirt if they want to be a little dressier. Women also will wear jeans and a tank top or something like that. If going to dinner you can wear the same, jeans and a shirt... if its a nicer restaurant khakis and a polo are the way to go. If you are going to one of the "clubs" like Epernay or Tommys you will find men in slacks and long sleeve shirts to jeans and polo or dress t-shirt. So bring a pair of jeans or two if you are more comfortable in jeans, some shorts for day time, swim trunks, khakis for any nice dining you might want to do, dress shorts and some t-shirts and polos and you should be good to go.
